This question is under investigation.
To check whether you have got this problem happening on your machine due to some DLL's failure - create a new Access 97/2000 database - "C:\Program Files\Sample\Test.mdb", create a new VB standard EXE, add a form with command button and add the following code in the form module:
'----------------------------------------------------
Private Sub Command1_Click()
'----------------------------------------------------
Dim appAccess As Object
'It might fail on the next line.
Set appAccess = CreateObject("Access.Application")
appAccess.OpenCurrentDatabase "C:\Program Files\Sample\Test.mdb", False
appAccess.Visible = True
MsgBox "appAccess.IsCompiled " & appAccess.IsCompiled, vbOKOnly + vbExclamation, "Validation"
appAccess.CloseCurrentDatabase
appAccess.Quit
Set appAccess = Nothing
End Sub
If it fails on the line
Set appAccess = CreateObject("Access.Application")
then re-start your machine and try to run this code again. This time it runs without failure.
