How does Installshield tie into MSI, can you set it up so that the MSI calls your utility as a step in the process?

We don’t recommend deploying SSW SQL Deploy as part of the Install Program (eg. Wise or InstallShield). Although it can be done we think it is wiser (pardon the pun) to have it triggered (if needed) from the beginning of the Client .exe or web application.

The benefits of this approach include:

• the app can be deploy via XCopy
• the app will always check on startup if new scripts are needed to be run
• the app can call a “Reconcile Backend” from the Tools menu of your app
